The Occupational Center is the only agency in the State of New Jersey which offers a unique combination of individualized training leading to long term employment for people with disabilities in the competitive job market or in our on-site industrial work center. This comprehensive package helps ensure on-the-job success and a productive, dignified life for those with disabilities.

The Occupational Center operates from three modern, air-conditioned, barrier-free 75,000 square foot facilities located in Roselle. Currently, the Center serves over 350 people. The Center’s programs are approved by the New Jersey Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services, Division of Development Disabilities, Division of Mental Health and Hospitals, Commission for the Blind, Department of Education and certified by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. All staff meet criminal background screening requirements and are trained in working with people with disabilities. Training includes human rights, ethics, cultural awareness, and a variety of health and safety areas including certification in CPR and first aid. Continuing education in the above disciplines is required of all staff yearly. The professionals in the various departments at OCUC have a long history of working with individuals that have a wide range of disabling conditions such as psychiatric disabilities, developmental disability , physical handicaps, visual or hearing impairment, epilepsy, and cerebral palsy.
